Thực trạng thiếu canxi và vitamin D ở phụ nữ có thai huyện Quỳnh Phụ, tỉnh Thái Bình năm 2012
Calcium and vitamin D deficiency in pregnant women in Quynhphu dicstrict, Thaibinh province, 2012
Summary:
Calcium and vitamin D play an important role
in pregnant women health. Is was cross-sectional
study, in order to determine the prevalence of
calcium and vitamin D deficiency in women of
13-24 week of pregnancy in Quynh Phu district,
Thai Binh province. The prevalence of calcium
deficiency (serum calcium ion ≤ 0.94 mmol/l) and
vitamin D deficiency (serum vitamin D ≤ 75 nmol/
l) of 13-24 week pregnant women was 100% and
74.2%; workers have higher prevalence of vitamin
D deficiency (83.3%) than farmers (54.5 %), p <
0.05. The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in 13-
16 week of pregnancy was 73.3%, in 17-20 week
of pregnancy was 88% and in 21-24 week was
63.3%. The prevalence of calcium and vitamin D
deficiency in subjects was relatively high at 100%
and 74.2%. Calcium and vitamin D deficiency
prevalence increased with gestational age. Pregnant
women workers (less exposure to sunlight)
have a significant higher prevalence of vitamin
D deficiency than farmers. So, provided enough
calcium and vitamin D throughout the life should
reduce the risk of osteoporosis, rickets in mother
and fetus. To assess the calcium status it should be
used dual-energy X-ray (DEXA) method
